Course Description: This course covers a study of direct and alternating theory, Ohm’s Law, series, parallel, and combination circuits.  Circuits are constructed and tested.

Course Competencies:  Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be competent to perform the following tasks:

• Identify Ohm’s Law and Circuits, series circuits, and parallel circuits.
• Solve combination circuits for power and current.
• Relate batteries to energy and show conversion of chemical energy to electrical energy.
• Show ampere-hour conversions.
• Select proper wire size.
• Select American Wire Gauge size.
• Select correct insulation.
• Define magnetism and motors.
• Define Generators.
• Define Flux.
• Distinguish Alternating Current from Direct Current.
• Distinguish alternating voltage.
• Distinguish direct voltage.

Course Requirements:  Safety Glasses, Digital Multimeter, Calculator
