Course Description:
This course is designed
for individuals making a career change or for personal knowledge in personal
fitness training. Get all the information you need to become a CERTIFIED
PERSONAL TRAINER in this 6-week course. This challenging 60-hour program is
comprised of 15 hours of lecture to include topics on biomechanics, exercise
physiology, fitness testing, equipment usage and health assessment. You will
learn to design and customize exercise programs and more during the fifteen
hours of practical hands-on training. The course also requires a 30-hour
internship. The National Exam is held on the 6th week. Proof of CPR
certification and textbook is required and not included in course fee.
Course
Competencies: Upon
successful completion of this course, the student should be competent to
perform the following tasks:

Assess an individuals’ level of fitness using
recommended guidelines of the American College of Sports Medicine.
·
Design and customize exercise programs for individuals based on their
current fitness level, future needs and fitness goals.
·
Demonstrate proper execution of weightlifting, stretching and isometric
exercises.
·
Practice personal fitness training professionally
·
Sit for the NBFE, National Board of Fitness Examiners, Exam
Course Requirements: Current adult CPR required for certification

Attendance, written exam, practical exam, 20 hour internship, current
